Pour cette publicité, l'agence m'a demandé d'écrire quelque chose d'à la fois drôle et mélancolique, un peu comme Enio Morricone.
J'ai trouvé un thème et un air facilement identifiable puis ait enregistré quelques voix et une trompette grâce à un jeune gamin qui jouait pour gagner de l'argent en bas de chez moi, et à qui j'ai demandé de jouer l'air avec son instrument dans mon studio.

Pour cette publicité, j'ai composé la musique qui sert de toile de fond, sur laquelle a été posé adroitement le design sonore créé par l'agence "THE".

Ceci est un rapide teaser d'annonce de films sur une chaine TV de Montreal.
Le client voulait une musique très electro et mature en même temps, un peu à la Goldfrap pour ceux qui connaissent.
Un immense merci à mes amis Matt Davis et Jayne Tuttle, tous deux musiciens et écrivains australiens qui m'ont aidé à écrire les textes (Je vous invite à aller voir son blog, et lire ses textes drôles et bien tournés : http://theexistentialbunnyrabbit.blogspot.com. J'ai surtout demandé à Jayne de poser sa voix sur le morceau qui pour moi était fait pour fonctionner avec sa voix sexy et mature.

L'agence voulait quelque chose qui sonnait très "post-rock" / "rock indé" exactement ce que je fais pour mon groupe Kwoon.
Avec une grosse production, j'ai enregistré ce titre au studio de la grande armée, un enorme studio au Palais des congrès

Voici la musique que j'ai composée en 2005 pour mon premier album autoproduit intitulé "Tales and dreams", sorti en 2006.
J'ai travaillé pendant 1 an avec Yannick Puig (http://www.yanim.net), un animateur 3D de talent qui vit en Espagne.
Aujourd'hui, grâce à ses prouesses, le clip aura été vu plus d'un million de fois à travers le monde.

Wishes card 2012 for "Chez Eddy" agency.
My friend Stephane Berla, director of videoclips like Dyonisos, M, and so..., asked me to compose a vintage electro track with old Atari & Amiga sounds.
Then the song had to grow up and get a fat electro beat.

To mark the 50th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights Wanda Productions director, Wilfrid Brimo, backtracks over the final moments of a man's life before highlighting how we can all get behind the campaign.

GRIMBERGEN :
Music i composed for Grimbergen commercial.
The agency loved the "Kwoon" style so it was really cool to compose a kind of music that i'm in love with.
With a huge production ("THE"), i composed and recorded the track in a realllly lovely huge studio in Paris called "Studio de la grande armée", in Palais des congrès, Paris, where some big stars recorded like Rolling Stones, Ray Charles...
CLOSER :

The client asked something sounding indie/electro-rock, like "The kills".
I wrote song and lyrics and asked Maud, a great singer from a very nice project (myspace.com/myraleemusic) to give me her voice.

For this track, the agency asked me to write something in "Enio Morricone" style.
I found quickly a main theme that i recorded with voices.
But i found that some trumpet sound was missing.
I was so lucky on this sunny summer day to hear someone, down of my street playing trumpet to win some money with his band. (I have to admit that first, i wasn't really happy, they were breaking my ears , he).
I've asked him to play me the score i wrote with his instrument. He did it. He was a nice guy, really.
Funny way to work...

Autodidact, a loner Indian in the forrest
I'm Sandy Lavallart, 33 years old and music composer.
I've decided to write a blog about what i'm doing actually, in music, a blog about the projects i have in mind, my projects actually running, my music experience and whatever...
Here is a short biography of my life :`
When i was 11years old, i've studied for the first time music, during one year where i played the piano and learned the "solfege".
I was 17 years old when i grab my first guitar and learn to play it alone until today.
I've learned to play the bass guitar, keyboard and many drums and wood instruments alone too.
Today, i can say that as many musicians, i'm an autodidact music player and happy to be !
Why ? Because, everytime i'm composing something, i feel lost...And i just love that...
I don't know if an "E" note could sound better than an "A" or a "B" after a "D", so i'm trying some ways i think i would never have found if i had studied the music and followed a logical and quick way to find the "right note".
I'm actually a really bad guitar player, really bad bass or other instruments player. Ask me to play an "A", i'll answer you : "hmmmm...could YOU play me an "A" first and i'll find it when i'll listen to you or seeing your fingers.
I just feel it, i know i'm bad but i don't want to improve my music with a teacher, i'm so afraid to lose control of everything, to forget my feeling and my own composing and playing style, as i was a Indian living in the middle of the Amazonian forrest, and a European architect would come to me to give me the art of building quickly a nice and huge house ...
I prefer living in my little sweat hut, build by my own hands.
